Neighborhood Groups are bringing growth to new plants. At the Revolution Conference last weekend, I sat next to Dave – planter of Living Water Church in Spokane, Washington. (The church plant I am part of in Melbourne, Australia is Living Waters!) Planted 4 years ago and with 280 attending their weekly worship service, there are now 18 small groups with 180 participants. “The small group I lead has multiplied into 3 groups,” explained Dave. “These are now neighborhood groups.” Like Willow Creek they have found that small groups may not be as effective as neighborhood small groups – where members cannot belong to the small group unless they walk to the group! They are learning that neighborhood small groups attract more unchurched friends! Who else is involved in neighborhood small groups?
