NEWS 24 Feb 10

Hello planters,

This weekend I will be in Western Australia – equipping church planting teams. Teams currently involved in planting have been encouraged to bring a new team of at least four with them – new teams to plant further new churches! Over the next week or so I will share some of their stories. Before leaving I wanted to let you know of the Simple Church Webinar coming up. You may want to register!

Be faithful & creative for God,

Peter Roennfeldt

Simple Church Webinar with Milton Adams – Sunday, March 21, 2010 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM EDT (US): Simple Church – What is it? Why consider it? How to start it? This webinar will introduce the Simple Church Network – a lay-led Adventist house church network and will give you the practical steps to start. Why? There is a continuing decline of people connecting to God through churches – with the majority under age 40 walking into a church building. Simple church may provide a way for some to connect! Register now @ https://www.gotowebinar.com/register/115929592 (Also check out www.SimpleChurchAtHome.com – a New Testament house church network.)

Planting & multiplying! Healthy church plants multiply. Check out this story from a network of planters being encouraged by Dave Lawton – they are now planting out: http://www.movements.net/2010/02/17/these-people-are-crazy.html

London Live – now weekly! A monthly event for Christians to involve their unchurched friends in vibrant and relevant worship – has now become a weekly opportunity to connect with God and West London: ‘Sharing Life – Sharing London – Sharing God!’ Pastor and planter, Paul King-Brown says that London Live takes every opportunity to connect with friends and community – through social fellowship and community initiatives: ‘The weekly London Live experience happens every Saturday at 5:00 pm, in Notting Hill Community Church, opposite 23-25, Kensington Park Road, W11 2ES.’

Adventist Fresh Expressions Conference – May 2-8, 2010 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA) with Monte Sahlin and Peter Roennfeldt: Andrew and Mayda Clark will host the event at their church plant and community service project in Pittsburgh. You will be able to worship with their PULSE congregation on Saturday and tour the many projects they have completed in the Carnegie neighborhood—housing rehabilitation, a community park, small-business development, eradicating hunger in the community, help for teens and young adults, community organizing, etc. This is one of the most innovative outreaches in America today—the Pittsburgh Metro Initiative. For details on registration, fees, accommodation etc write to –

Vive Café is ‘Church’! For many of the approximately 100 community people who come in for fellowship & friendship – and a three course meal each Thursday evening, this is their ‘church’. Revive church plant (Melbourne, Australia) has a praise and commitment time each Saturday evening, a bunch of small groups & mid-week church, prayer fellowship every Monday evening, and has just started a school for young people who ‘have been asked to leave all other schools’! ‘These people are our friends,’ I regularly hear volunteers at the Café and Revive say. ‘These are the people that Jesus would be spending time with!’ Last Thursday when I was there – sitting and eating with Paddy – I thought, ‘This is the only church (gathering) that these people know of!’ In the midst of the noise – chatter, music, kids running and playing, volunteers serving, clothes and food being distributed – there is ‘Peace’!
