Four years ago Jan, Jarka and their family moved into Cedlcany – a small rural Czech town, to plant a new church. Jan provided soccer coaching for boys, guitar and singing lessons, and organized town social events and camps. Jarka taught various crafts – ceramics, pottery, art. When the numbers of children and teens participating became too many for their home, the community helped them refurbish their garage as a ‘club centre’. More than 50 children are involved in weekly activities – as well as a teens club! Two gatherings (‘church’ each week) of parents and teens, involves 10-20 people – sharing food, chatting, planning community activities and holidays together, Bible reading and teaching. Jan and some of his musicians sing gospel songs in the town pubs – and now also serves as president of the town home for the homeless. Jaca supports the seniors home in town.
