I think that Tom Friedman had it earlier yet with his book, “The Earth is Flat”. Hierarchy is a dying breed. We now communicate horizontally rather than up or down. Information flows freely and it is very difficult to hide.

Maybe hierarchy represents human dominance, intrigue and control – while the gospel is framed by conformity to the attitude of status-reversal (Phil 2). So what could a ‘flat earth’ look like for church as God’s mission agency for his kingdom?
